About Us

Our aim is to provide a friendly, reliable and rewarding bird-watching holiday for our clients. We have carefully selected the sites and have based our choice on many years of experience in the field. Our tours are run on a weekly basis and as a result we shall be visiting the sites regularly except for the month of July and over the Christmas and New Year period. We shall be recording the birds that we see from our tours so that as well as being an enjoyable holiday very important data be collated. This data will be made available to GONHS (Gibraltar Ornithological & Natural History Society) and SEO (Sociedad Española de Ornitología).  Therefore, you will be participating in an on-going data collating process from observations made during the tours and contributing invaluable scientific information.

Our tours are endorsed and recommended by Professor Clive Finlayson and Dr. Ernest Garcia, both well renowned ornithologists and authors of several authoritative works including the leading Guide Books on where to watch birds in Southern Spain and Gibraltar. Indeed, I had the pleasure of co-authoring the “Birds of Gibraltar” with them in 1980. I have been an ornithologist for nearly 40 years and your personal guide, Paul Rocca, has had over 25 years experience and learned his trade from Clive, Ernest and me.

For each tour we have listed the birds that have been regularly seen at each of the sites. We have not bothered to include the commoner birds like House Sparrow, Blackbird, Wren, Blackcap, Robin, etc. Passage periods vary from species to species but generally speaking we refer to the northbound and southbound movements.

We have selected Gibraltar as our base for our tours and hope to include stays at Conil de la Frontera in the future. Details of accommodation, meals, transport, etc. can be found under the Itinerary section of our web site.

Flights are not included in our package as we feel that each individual client can probably find the most economic. It is easy to fly to Malaga form many UK airports and then either catch a bus or get a taxi to Gibraltar from Malaga airport. We will only be too happy to assist with flights should you require us to do so.  Similarly we have left the evening meal up to you (except for one night, when we seek out nocturnal birds. Breakfast is included. We will also provide packed lunches and will be making opportune coffee and lunch stops during our outings.

We look forward to seeing you and hope that you enjoy your holiday with us.
